Internet Access at Box Hedge Farm.

Being in the middle of the countryside we do have access to wonderful sunrises but unfortunately do not have access to high speed fibre-optic cable to be able to offer guests a very fast (broadband) internet access.

Our own personal internet access comes via a telephone cable. We would like to share this connection with guests but we are 7 miles from the nearest telephone exchange so the best download speed we can obtain is less than 500Kbytes (½ Mbyte). Trying to share this with 18 bedrooms means that the “service” would be appalling or pretty well non existent.

We are able to offer emergency wireless Internet access using a vodafone “dongle” connection which can be plugged into a laptop via a USB connection.
We lend you the dongle for free for use ON SITE ONLY at Box Hedge Farm and only charge for the time/data rate used..

This limited service is intended for emergency or occasional short term use e.g. an O2 broadband user who can't get a signal or for a guest who has lost or forgotten his own dongle. Regular users of the Internet should make their own provision for longer term Mobile Broadband Internet access.

We are aware that most guests travelling with a laptop will already subscribe to a mobile broadband service of some kind so the following information regarding broadband signal reception at Box Hedge Farm is offered :-
O2 broadband signal – non existent.
( O2 mobile phone signal OK) Three.co.uk, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin, and Vodafone all claim that broadband signal is good or excellent at Box Hedge Farm.
